“Flukes,” one of the three ( maybe the second ) Whale Tail sculptures. It was sculpted from an elm log I got from the dump. Working from the model I had made earlier, I roughed it out with the chain saw. I liked the movement of the form and the idea that it could represent different subjects. Flukes did well; it got into a number of juried shows and won some prizes, moved around quite a bit, and finally settled in at Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, MA.
